Godard
Richard Roud (1929–1989) was an American writer on film and co-founder/director of the New York Film Festival. In the 1950s, Roud became the London correspondent of the French film magazine Cahiers du Cinema and, later, film critic for The Guardian. He also wrote annual reports from the Cannes Film Festival. A graduate of the University of Wisconsin, his books include Cinema: A Critical Dictionary - The Major Film-Makers and A Passion for Film.
Michael Temple is senior lecturer in the history and theory of cinema at Birkbeck College, University of London. His publications include Jean-Luc Godard: Documents (co-editor), The French Cinema Book, and For Ever Godard. He lives in London.
