The problem with Clarence Thomas is that he can get no satisfaction from the choices he makes in life–altar boy, a priesthood with the Maryknolls, Yale Law School, Justice of the U.S. Supreme Court. All amazing accomplishments for a black boy from Pin Point, Georgia, but for Clarence, all somewhat "tainted" by nods from a white establishment offering special favors to disadvantaged blacks. But his theological background in the Church, however brief, makes him an ideal candidate to write the "Gospel" recording and celebrating the life and deeds of George W. Bush. And that is precisely the role the U.S. President has in store for him. Clarence Thomas writes the President’s story across an enormous canvas, international in scope. It is woven out of a thousand and one different threads and a supporting cast from the President’s inner circle–Dick Cheney, Condi Rice, Karl Rove, John Bolton, Alberto Gonzales and others. There are also world leaders like Tony Blair, Stephen Harper, and Hugo Chavez. Even the President’s dog Barney finds a place, not to mention wife Laura and mother Barbara. This is poetry, drama, waiting to be sung.
