Wolves (lone.ly)
In WOLVES (lone.ly), Jonathan Ball meditates on the word ‘wolves’ to produce a series of disjointed poems exploring the meanings the word has accrued throughout history. Within a set of randomly selected constraints, Ball draws on myth, folklore, parable, and his own personal associations with the word, to provoke a violent storm of poetic possibility.
Jonathan Ball is a writer and filmaker living in Calgary where he runs The Martain Press and is pursuing a Ph.D. (English). At present, he is editing the literary journal dANDelion and writing a novel called Kanada. He is the author of five previous chapbooks.
