His photography and visual art has appeared in many books, magazines and newspapers, as well as a few galleries. As founder of Alter Sublime Neurotechnologies (1992-96), he originated the Hallucinatorium, a traveling brain machine sideshow engineered to provoke illegally beautiful images in the minds of its visitors. Other recent books of poetry by Steve Venright include Spiral Agitator (Coach House Books 2000) and The Sleepy Turbine (LyricalMyrical 2003).
