How to Read Wittgenstein

Monk argues that at the root of Wittgenstein's thought is a determination to insist on the integrity and autonomy of non-scientific forms of understanding, and that the kind of understanding he sought in philosophy is similar to the kind we might seek of a person, a piece of music, or a poem.
